Let me ask you a question….

When was the last time you did something that was TRULY just for you?

Sadly, most of us can’t remember OR it has definitely been way to long.

So let’s change that….let’s do something that is completely about YOU!

I need to lose weight first

I am not photogenic enough

It’s selfish to spend time and money on myself

I’m sure you can come up with a million excuses for why you SHOULDN’T do a boudoir session, so I am going to give you 4 reasons why you NEED to do one…now!

It’s not every day that you get to have your hair and make-up done and dress up for the camera. Unless you are a celebrity, it’s likely that you haven’t done it at all. So why not take this opportunity to see how the other half live. Do something fun! Bring your girlfriend along and make it a fun day together….or even better you BOTH schedule a session and get to experience the fun together. Get the celebrity treatment for a day! Shaunna Kay organizes the whole pamper day for you! Recommending the best local salon near the home studio, where candles, champagne and chocolates await! Relaxing music playing in the background while you relax and be waited on hand and foot.

Imagine the look on his face when he/she opens the album you created, filled with gorgeous images of you. You will have to pick his/her jaw up off the floor. Boudoir is not only a great gift to GIVE someone….it’s a perfect gift to give YOURSELF! Yes, it’s fun to see the reaction on their face, but more importantly it serves as a constant reminder of just how beautiful you are. I have clients that cry when they see their pictures for the first time – “Is that really me?” – I have clients order wall art that’s just for them. They hang them in their bathroom or closest where they can see it daily and remember that feeling. So, boudoir may seem like the perfect gift for THEM, but really it’s the perfect gift for YOU!

We all have our “safe” place. The role that we have stepped into, or have been placed in, that we feel now defines us. For some of us it’s MOM. Now that we have children it seems selfish to do something for ourselves…or we don’t feel like we are allowed to be sexy anymore. For others it’s your CAREER. You have put your career ahead of everything else, and you don’t take the time to do something that just for you. Every once in a while it’s good to step outside your comfort zone. NO ONE ever walks into my studio feeling like they know exactly how to pose and what to do. Even those that have “modeled” before are a little unsure. Nothing about a boudoir session is “natural”, which is part of the appeal. It’s a safe place to let loose, and bring out the sexy side that usually gets buried beneath all the other “roles” you take on.

Maybe it’s your significant other…or it could be your best friend. Either way, we all have someone that thinks we are pretty amazing just the way we are. We don’t always see ourselves the way they do. We see the imperfections and flaws, but they see beauty. I have been photographing women a while now and I can tell you that YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST CRITIC! I see it all the time. A gorgeous image of a beautiful woman…and all she sees is the tiny pooch in her stomach or the size of her arms. None of those things matter to those that love you the most. You are beautiful just the way you are….RIGHT NOW….right this moment. So capture it!

The Benefits of Red Light Therapy

here is not a moment where I am not feeling pain somewhere throughout my body. I literally have the body of an 80-year-old lady, and it’s just getting worse because there is no cure to the disease that is deteriorating my cartilage and joints. For years, I’ve mastered physical therapy techniques, gotten acupuncture, and pursued natural alternatives because living on prescriptions is not a permanent option that I will take. Another form of natural therapy I do often is Red Light Therapy. It is one of many things that help me control my chronic illnesses.

7 Ways to Honor the Autumn Equinox

Since ancient times, many civilizations marked both the March and September Equinoxes as special, potent and even holy. Some cultures erected monuments, some people made pilgrimages, and others gathered to feast, celebrate, and perform rituals that helped them align with the energies of the new season.

Since I began my spiritual journey as a Christian Alchemist, I have been honoring this day with God, creating and adopting rituals that I do with my family.

Nature’s Eye Cream [Oil] for Dark Circles

If you have dark circles—like really dark circles—you know the poignant disappointment that comes from an eye cream’s failed attempt at lightening, brightening, and disguising those damned bluish half-moons. It’s something that all the concealer in the world couldn’t fix (at least not in the long-term anyway). Gleaning outside advice doesn’t always help, either. I’ve heard people recommend applying potato slices—even raw milk—to the under-eye area. While those things may have worked for them, I don’t have the time nor the patience for that kind of skincare commitment. I require something much more portable and much less perishable.

I’m have Italian Generals as clients, contractors from the US Government, China e-commerce brands to school districts.
