What Is a Total Solar Eclipse in Astrology?
A total solar eclipse occurs when the New Moon passes between the sun and the Earth, blocking out the sun’s light and temporarily turning day into darkness.
The Moon controls the tides, and since humans are made of mostly water, it’s not rocket science to consider the Moon can affect us, too. New Moons signify fresh starts and a chance to plant seeds for the future, while Full Moons bring closure.
Eclipses always occur on New or Full Moons. This means they add intensity to these lunations. Some astrologers say eclipses are like “New or Full Moons on steroids.” They are unpredictable and wild. This will also be the last total solar eclipse that can be seen from the contiguous United States until August 23, 2044.
During an eclipse, expect the unexpected. A total solar eclipse can block an unhealthy situation or person out of your life, which will ultimately prove a major blessing. Spiritually speaking, what’s hidden in the shadows tends to come to light during an eclipse. You might not see it coming, but it could assist you in unexpected ways. New opportunities may also appear out of the blue.
Much like a lunar eclipse, a solar eclipse can sometimes seem like it’s speeding up time and pushing you to take much-needed action.
